Senda litoral Estepona

Senda Litoral is the name for the coastal path that links Estepona to Marbella. Estepona has now added another stretch to the ambitious 'Senda Litoral' coastal pathway project to connect the whole of the Costa del Sol.

More than three kilometres in length was opened by provincial chief Elías Bendodo on Sunday, alongside Estepona mayor, José María García Urbano. The new part connects El Ángel with the town's marina.

The entire path runs parallel to the sea, with a wide space between 3 and 6 meters, enough for both pedestrians and cyclists, with entrance to the beaches and with different levels: some high, others at ground level.

It is an easy and friendly path to walk for kinds of people, for those who simply want to fancy a nice walk and even for those who want to practice sports such as running or biking for example. It is an excellent way to enjoy a walk by the beach in good company and witness magnificent views of the Mediterranean as well as pretty sunsets or sunrises. Along the path, there are various restaurants and beach lounges where you can enjoy a meal or drinks too.

The Senda Litoral de Malaga (Malaga Coastal Path) is a projected 163km path following the entire coast of Malaga province from Manilva to Nerja. Once finished, this long-distance path will be a major tourist attraction for the Costa del Sol, and for Andalucia.

Because of the project's official website - like the path itself - is currently under construction, we have tracked the progress of the path's route along the coast, displaying the current status of each section.
